In continuation of that, the first batch of Bangladeshi workers batch (92 people) in 2023 is scheduled to leave Dhaka on Tuesday (January 3) from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a chartered flight of Korean Air Company. Of those 92, 69 are brand new.
According to a press release from the South Korean Embassy, among the first batch of 92 Bangladeshi workers, there are 69 new and 23 re-hired workers.
It should be noted that after almost a year and a half suspension of the admission or recruitment of foreign EPS staff due to Corona, the Korean government in December 2021 started hiring ESP staff.
From 2008 to 2022, a total of 28,697 Jobs for Bangladeshi workers went to South Korea through the EPS program. It is estimated that in 2023, an average of 100 to 120 Bangladeshi workers will fly to South Korea every week.
A major reason why South Korea is a preferred destination for Bangladeshi workers is that they can earn Korea’s legal minimum wage. The salary there is very good.
